I eat up biographies from successful people at a rate higher than most. I’m talking about the classic ones saying – “Hey, this is how I became successful and you can too if you follow the same things I did!” I know they are very easy to make fun of, but I enjoy them. They are easy to read and try to send a good message of how the person became successful. Same thing with the inspiration quote Instagram pages. Life is easier if you can take them at face value and enjoy them.
So here is my attempt of trying to do the same.
- If you see a group of people taking a picture and someone has to be left out because they are the one taking the picture, then offer to take a picture of the whole group. This is just a good simple gesture that you can do as a stranger. Random acts of kindness matter.
- If you have the slightest feeling of going to the bathroom, do it. Don’t wait for something to be a bigger problem when you see it on the horizon and just take care of it.
- Floss every day. No one enjoys flossing, but taking the 30 seconds to do something that is annoying but helpful to you is always good.
- Tell someone if they have something in their teeth – it isn’t fun to do, but the person will appreciate it and you hope they would do the same for you.
- Drink your coffee black – you get used to the barebones and everything else is just an added bonus.
- Be comfortable with yourself in the weight room – don’t try and add extra weight just to fit in. If you can only bench the bar, start with that and be comfortable to know you’ll work your way up.
- Spending money on a sale still means you are spending money. Don’t get deceived, you can say how much money you “saved”, but you still spent something to earn those “savings.”
- If you catch a baseball at a game, give it to a kid. What matters more, you getting a baseball or making a kid’s night? It’s a small loss for yourself and a big win for someone else.
Awesome post Nick! Can’t wait to share the wisdom 🙌🏼
